The Pinellas County Sheriffs Office prides itself with providing its members
with the latest in training and technology. Within the last three years, the
Training Division, composed of seven full-time high liability instructors, began
the task of researching the latest trends in Law Enforcement involvement
throughout our country.
We found that the transition to have better Basic Life Support (BLS)
techniques were among the listed based on the rise of violence towards Law
Enforcement. This among several other concerns lead gave us the need to
introduce a Tactical Casualty Care Course.
A portion of this course involves the assembling of a Trauma Kit that will
provide our deputies with the equipment needed to take care of
Hemorrhaging, Tension Pneumothorax and Airway Management. Because of
